Mr. Agbaje is the Group CEO of GTCO plc. With over (25) twenty-five years investment and international banking experience, Mr. Agbaje is involved in the general management of the Bank’s day-to-day operations and has earned a reputation as a truly accomplished and highly respected professional within the West Africa sub-region, given his diverse experience in the financial services industry.
Prior to joining Guaranty Trust Bank plc, he worked with Ernst & Young, San Francisco, United States of America (USA). He subsequently joined Guaranty Trust Bank as a pioneer staff in 1991 and rose through the ranks to become an Executive Director in January 2000, and Deputy Managing Director in August 2002, in light of his diverse background and experience in almost all areas of the Bank’s activities including Commercial Banking, Investment Banking, Treasury, Corporate Planning and Strategy, Settlements and Operations.
Mr. Agbaje possesses a deep understanding of the Nigerian business environment having initiated and led the execution of large, innovative and complex transactions in Financial Advisory, Structured and Project Finance, Balance Sheet Restructuring and Debt and Equity Capital raising in several sectors of the Nigerian economy notably Oil and Gas, Energy, Telecommunications, Financial Services and Manufacturing industries. In addition, he helped in developing the Interbank Derivatives market amongst dealers in the Nigerian banking industry and introduced the Balance Sheet Management Efficiency system.
He was also very instrumental in putting together Guaranty Trust Bank’s landmark USD350million Eurobond offering in 2007 and later that year, the listing of its US$750 million Global Depository Receipts (GDR) in an unprecedented concurrent global offering in the domestic and international capital markets – which made Guaranty Trust Bank the first Nigerian company and first bank in Sub-Saharan Africa to be listed on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange. In 2011, he further led the Bank to launch the first Sub-Saharan Africa financial sector benchmark Eurobond when the Bank launched its USD500million Eurobond without a Sovereign Guarantee or Credit Enhancement from any international financial institution.
Mr. Agbaje serves on the boards of several other notable companies including Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited, Guaranty Trust Bank (Gambia) Limited, Guaranty Trust Bank (UK) Limited and also a Director on MasterCard Advisory Board Middle East and Africa.
He is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco, USA.
Mr. Agbaje was appointed Acting Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank plc in April 2011, and as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer on June 22, 2011.
Mr. Babajide Gregory Okuntola is the Deputy Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank Limited and his career in banking and financial service experience spans across Transaction Services, Risk Management, Treasury, Financial Control, Oil and Gas as well as Fintech, by over the years actively interfacing and or assuming leadership roles in some of these business segments.
With over a decade experience in originating, advising, structuring and executing transactions in-excess of $16Billion in Oil and Gas Financing, he was responsible for managing the Bank’s Oil and Gas portfolio covering the Upstream, Midstream and Downstream subsectors of the Oil and Gas industry.
On August 1, 2021, Mr. Okuntola was appointed Deputy Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank Limited, with the responsibility of overseeing the Energy Banking portfolio (re-positioning the Bank strongly for energy transition whilst remaining the number 1 Energy Bank in the Nigeria), The Financial Institution and Telecoms portfolio, Corporate Banking portfolios, Food and Beverage portfolios, Commercial Banking Lagos portfolios as well as the Bank’s new Business Banking portfolio in Lagos amongst other responsibilities.
Mr. Okuntola holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Master’s in Business Administration in Petroleum and Energy Economics. He has attended several executive management and banking specific
programs in leading educational institutions. He joined the GTBank as an Executive Trainee and rose through the ranks to become an Executive Director in 2018, a position he held until his appointment as Deputy Managing Director in August 2021.
He is a member of the Bank’s Board Credit Committee, he also serves as chairman Management Risk Committee as well as the Executive Compliance Officer of the Bank. He is also an Honorary Senior Member
of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.
Mr. Okuntola joined the Board of GTBank UK as a non-executive director on 1 December 2021
Mr. Wild has over 40 years of Banking experience both in the UK and Internationally, his experience covers General management, Corporate Banking, Technology/ Banking Systems, Strategic planning, retail and commercial Banking.
Mr. Wild joined the board on January 2, 2008.
Mr. Taylor holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from the University of Leicester. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, Fellow of the Securities and Investment Institute, Associate of Compliance Institute and Member of Compliance Register.
With over 40 years of Financial Services experience covering retail, wholesale and Institutional compliance in Banking and in Fund management in the UK.
Mr. Taylor joined the board on January 2, 2008.
Joanne Hindle joined the Board of Guaranty Trust Bank (UK) as an Independent Non-Executive Director in March 2024. She has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry having held both executive and board level positions. Over her career Joanne has been Corporate Services Director at Unum Limited and Director of Pensions Development at NatWest Life.
Amongst her portfolio of non-executive board positions, Joanne was Chairman of Shepherd’s Friendly Society until June 2021 and served on the board as a Non-Executive Director and chair of their remuneration committee until June 2022.
In addition, Joanne is Chairman of Stafford Railway Building Society, Chairman of Co-op Funeral Plans Ltd and Non-Executive Director of Bank of London and Middle East. She was a legal and compliance consultant for AXA Assistance until December 2019 and formerly was Chairman of Holmesdale Building Society.
Paul Croucher, MBA, DIPFS, FCIB
Paul Croucher brings nearly 40 years in banking and finance with extensive leadership experience especially around business change and transformation. A Fellow of the London Institute of Banking and Finance, Paul holds an MBA, a Diploma in Financial Services (DIPFS), and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (FCIB).

Goziem Eso is the Executive Director of Guaranty Trust Bank UK Limited and her career with the Bank commenced in 2008 as a Relationship Manager progressing to being appointed the Head of International Premium Banking in 2017.
Goziem has a wealth of experience working in the retail banking industry, building a client base of retail and high net worth individuals with emphasis on Sub-Sahara Africa, managing, deepening and broadening client relationships to ultimately increase revenue and profits.
Goziem holds a Bachelors of Science in Accounting and Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CEMAP)
