Scam Alert
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CUSTOMERS
You may receive or have received emails that look like they’ve come from GTBank UK or GTBank Plc. Some of them even claim to be from the GTBank GeNS Alert system. These emails will typically ask for your personal security details. GTBank UK and/or GTBank Plc will never ask you to disclose your security details by email.
Usually the links contained in these ‘phishing’ emails will direct you to a site that asks you to ‘update’ or ‘verify’ your details on the page. Be warned – these can appear to be genuine. Don’t click on these links or provide any of your security details. The aim of the emails is to get your security details and steal your money. Genuine emails from GTBank UK may contain links, but they’ll never take you directly to the Online Banking login page.
From time to time GTBank UK will send out emails. Where we can, we’ll include some more information about you, like your name and the name or number of your home to prove our email is a genuine communication. We’ll never ask you to disclose any of your personal or security details by email. If you receive an email asking you to either 'verify your account’, ‘confirm your sign-in details’, claiming that you've won a lottery or a similarly worded request, it’s certainly a scam.
If you receive such email, please forward it immediately to phishing@gtbankuk.com. We won’t be able to reply individually but we do investigate every email to make sure that fake sites are closed down as quickly as possible.
